3 Study Tips for Finals Week at CSUN
It’s been quite a semester. You're close to the finish line, and we at Aspire want to help you close out strong. No need to stress as you settle in to study at our apartments near CSUN. Just try these three study tips for finals week and remember—you've got this!
Claim Your Study Space
Just so we're clear, the bed is not the most effective place to study. Okay, now that we’ve cleared that up, we recommend choosing a quiet place in your apartment with lots of natural light. Pick somewhere where you can focus on your studies away from roommates, television, and your phone. Noise-canceling headphones can also be a real lifesaver here. Also, keep your materials organized by class so it's easy to move between subjects or shift around the apartment if need be.
Stay Organized
There’s no time like finals week to come up with a good plan. Grab your favorite planner, pen, and final exam schedule — it's time to prioritize. Start with the days and times your exams are scheduled for and work backward from there. Think about the amount of material you need to cover, study groups you have plans with, and tutoring appointments you will want to schedule. Assign each of these items a spot on your calendar to understand how much time you will devote to your finals prep. Whatever works for you, make a plan and stick to it. Thankfully you are only a four-minute walk from campus, so you don't need to factor in much time for your exam day commute.
Study Breaks
When you're creating your finals week schedule, make sure you include socially-distanced study breaks. The Northridge neighborhood has so much to offer—hiking, great burritos, pizza, and more! Unplugging for an hour will do wonders for your studying stamina and mental health. Including breaks can help prevent burnout and ensure finals week is as stress-free as possible.
